A chic Asian fusion restaurant. The waitress said she didn't know what regions things were from, and recommended what she said was an "Indian Curry" that was very clearly a Thai curry when it arrived. Still good, but it's frustrating to parse through the limited menu descriptions when the staff is not educated on the dishes.
With plenty of vegan options that are all good, this place remains at the top of our regular stops. The staff are able to answer questions about menu items but, there are many choices on the menu that are vegan as is. Decent beer selection, with some local stuff, and great cocktails.
A very solid restaurant. Food is consistently good and fresh. Cocktails are inventive and an honest pour. Shrimp dumplings (steamed) are my favorite.
Happy Hour at KEO is the best! 1/2 price small plates at the bar and lounge. We always get the tuna nachos, tacos, and house martinis!
Now for the whole reason I made a google account just to write this review and the reason I will never go back to Keo: the waitress and the entrees. I just got off a shift working a flu clinic and helping patients all day. I wanted to take my girlfriend out and we both decided we wanted Pho but we also wanted to have a few drinks. Keo seemed to be the only place close to us that fulfilled both of those requirements. When we were seated, the waitress, Candace F, took an excessive amount of time to come to our table. She eventually brought water, silverware, was kind in greeting us but disappeared immediately after. I assumed she was just busy even though the restaurant was not very busy at all. We waited. And waited. I'm watching her take care of other tables and neglect our table. Finally Candace gets around to our drink order. The bartender brings our drinks. We wait. And wait some more. We decided what we wanted to eat. I would say it was a good 15-20 minutes between our drink order and when she finally got around to taking our food order. We order, food arrives promptly. By that time, We were both wanting another drink. She never once came and asked if we needed another drink or anything at all. She simply disappeared which became the theme of the night. The Pho had very thin and poorly seasoned broth that had an off putting aroma and an aftertaste was awful. The meat was bland and tasted a little bit sour. I only ate a few bites. I'm not a picky eater. I don't care if food is average or subpar, as long as it is edible, I will eat it with no complaints. It unfortunately was not edible. My girlfriend stated her Seafood Tom Yum was delicious which was positive but shortly after leaving she became sick to her stomach. The poor girl is still feeling ill. Candace never asked how the meal was. My meal looked untouched and she didn't really care. She asked if I wanted it boxed up and I said absolutely not. She removed my girlfriends plate and said she would be back for mine. 10-15 minutes pass by as she goes and helps her other tables. Finally she comes back to clear our table. I had to prompt her for the check. Takes another large amount of time to get the check. And another excessive amount of time for her to give me my card back. It was unreal how inattentive Candace was and how she would disappear for large amounts of time. I don't know if it's because we looked young or what but her behavior was simply unacceptable. Honestly, the customer service at a fast food restaurant was much better than this. I would say this is one of the worst if not the worst experience I've had at a restaurant and why we will never go to Keo again. :(
I want to start off with some positive remarks about the restaurant and the whole reason I'm giving this restaurant 2 stars instead of one. The hostess was a young lady who was excellent. She was super sweet, kind, attentive, sat us promptly, and was one of the best parts of the whole experience. I also saw her assisting her coworkers when they needed help. She went above and beyond. The busser who also delivered the food was great-he was hard working and very personable. I really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. The appetizer tasted excellent even though it was a rather small portion. The drinks were inventive, interesting, and tasty. The bartender really seemed to know what she was doing and was prompt in delivering the drinks.
