I have never had a worse experience. I attended and graduated from a division 1 university with 25,000 other students a received more support from staff than I could ever get from TCC. The process they use to just hand you off to the next person so they can lie to you too is not only ineffective but it's beyond disturbing. That staff wouldn't be there if it weren't for the students. They are unreachable. The call 2000 number is a joke. The person on that other end of the 2000 helpline will tell you whatever you need to hear to get off of the phone. It I could give TCC a more negative review than 1 star I absolutely would!
I hate how slow this entire school works. Every year I attended, I was always "chosen at random" to have my taxes reviewed. Guess the school didn't believe how poor I was and wanted to make sure I wasn't lying about my need for financial assistance. I swear they get slower and lazier each year. My husband is currently taking classes here and it's taken them four months and counting to approve his financial aid. We just got married this year and we were required to provide our tax transcripts from 2015. WHAT? WHY? How does our individual 2015 taxes correlate with the 2017-2018 school year? Not only that, they had initially only asked for his tax transcript. Took an entire month for that to process and clear. Then they turn around and tell us they need my 2015 taxes and W-2s. When we asked why they needed 2015 tax information the only answer they could provide was it was required by the Board of Education. Okay? but why? The semester is half way done and we're still waiting for all the required paperwork to clear. Each time we think everything has gone through, one more requirement pops up.
Teachers are wonderful but the administrative staff suck. Don't waste your time or money here. If I could I'd give TCC a negative 5 stars.
Id highly recommend attending a different community college. The enrollment process was harder than the actual class. They will blatantly lie to you, and refer you to the next person who cant help you just to get you off the phone. They do not care about their students and they do not care about their school. Unenthusiastic, rude, and extremely lazy. I am a student elsewhere so I am aware of how easy the enrollment process can be. Don't waste your time.
No one can give you a straight answer, no one knows what their talking about either. I called the number provided multiple times with some questions, and a rude lady always answer's, then i talk to some one who 'supposedly' can answer my question, and was completely rude as well also was indirect with me. Horrible.
Good luck trying to deal with financial aid office and enrollment etc office. It's never their problem and will tell you to go to the other office, which i could deal with if the wait times weren't SO HORRIBLY long. You will really have to sit around for an hour, maybe more, to just talk to someone. The school layout is weird and very confusing, the map they give is of little help. They should also completely redo their TCC online portal. Its ugly and not user-friendly at all.
