Dr. Wenger is great!
The first time I saw Dr. Wenger, I was having a persistent cough and slight shortness of breath for about 3 days. It turned out to be a pneumothorax (collapse lung) which caused me to be hospitalized for 10 days. He was the GP that referred me to my pulmonologist and the other doctors that took care of me while in the hospital. For those 10 days, he visited me twice a day which was more than any of the other doctors that were taking care of me and the others actually work at the hospital!! He has also be a great GP in general, willing to take the time to example and weigh all options even for minor health issues.
He's a man of few words and doesn't cover issues in detail. Unless you think about asking all the right questions you won't get any information.
I got a new PCP when I got my Community Care Ins. I've only been once to his office, but the visit was pleasant. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, but they are to the point when it comes to the needs you're having. Dr. Wenger is very patient and calm, it's very refreshing when compared to the PCP I had while a child. My former Doctor was jittery, fast paced, and sometimes demeaning. This is not the case at Dr.Wenger's office. I had multiple concerns about my current health conditions; dry mouth, sore throat, achy joints, etc. and Dr.Wenger considered them all. He had a CBC done, as well as a test for Diabetes, liver problems, kidney problems, and more. I was happy when I called into the Medical message system and heard that all my worries were unwarranted, and probably just needed to drink more water and less caffeinated drinks. 5 stars completely.
This doctor doesn't make recommendations, he just makes the decisions for you. My blood work came back with clear results and yet he refused appropriate treatment. Got second opinion and got the treatment needed. The other doctor was very surprised to say the least.
After my last appointment, he sent me an email addressing my high blood pressure. He "forgot" to cover it in the appointment.
