I have never been treated with more respect than this place showed me. I loved every person I worked with and even patients who were sicker than me we're treated with a great deal of respect. I loved Elmira, and Derrick. I really loved everyone and the smoke breaks
Nothing but a bunch of liars and greedy malefactors who only care about getting your money. I came in voluntarily and was lied to about everything from financial advice to time of release. Don't trust these money grubbing "doctors", they're only out to get your money. Do not donate to this for-profit organization, and do not come to them if you are in need of mental help. There are so many more places that have integrity for helping those in need and will be truthful to you upfront, instead of locking the door behind you and entrapping in their "services".
Horrifying experience. Was told I had to take him by his PCP after we (MOM &dad) saw cut marks on his thigh. He was sent for suicidal thoughts and severe depression. He was checked in on a Thursday at 2pm and did not hear from any one with a degree, concerning him. For days I made dozens of calls and eventually had his PCP get him released. Since, he has crashed, due to them putting him on the WRONG medication and then literally, cutting it cold turkey. He's still currently suffering withdrawal from their bad judgement. If you love someone, please find a better place! Please!
The one thing i really have respect for is they educated my daughter anout het meds what she was taking & why & to identify them as she took them. This way when given to her she knew exactly what & why she was taking them.
It has been a rough rode but we are getting there. Thanks for the help. mom Gale
I have had my daughter here & the staff all around has been very helpful, patient & caring both as an in patient thru residential care & now with outpatient counseling, they have answered my questions & has always been respectful to both of us.
This place treated me horribly. I went in for depression and suicidal thoughts and they ended up putting me on Lithium 900mg (a medication commonly used for people with bipolar disorder) anyone who knows what lithium is knows that it's highly not recommend for teens or children especially in that high of a dose. I was never tested for bipolar disorder or told that I had signs of it, I was just randomly put on this medication by the doctors without being told the side affects, or issues that might occur. This medication ended up almost killing me and had me sent to the hospital to get my stomach pumped and get further help because the medical professionals at St. John's in Tulsa that I did NOT need that medication and it was highly toxic for a teen in that high of a dose. My parents and other family members ended up wanting to sue the place for their misconduct with me, the horrible living conditions, and the way the staff treated me, and basically made my depression worse. I got out of park side and got the help I need from another mental health professional and am currently on an antidepressant called Celexa 20mg and am doing amazing, so basically Parkside did absolutely nothing to help me and ultimately just made my depression and suicidal thoughts worse when they were supposed to help me. I witnessed so many patients being treated wrongly and talked down to, also a male staff member there made several sexual remarks towards me and also tried to get very touchy feely with me (even tried to give me a "goodbye" hug when I clearly didn't ask for it) and I feel that the staff didn't notice this and should have been keeping a better eye on this particular male staff member. I'm still not very happy with Parkside but am doing much better mentally and emotionally and feel better than I ever have before thanks to the hospital that helped me when I had to get my stomach pumped and helped me get off that horrid Lithium. I strongly advise any parents to please don't send your child here. I never want to see any other teen have to go through what I went through at this horrible place.
